Rabobank-Giant cyclocross rider Lars van der Haar continued his early season hot streak over the weekend, winning the Under-23 category at the first European C1 cyclocross race of the season in Kalmthout, Belgium, Sunday.
Van der Haar, the current U23 World Champion, rode his Giant TCX Advanced SL to a convincing win over Dutch rider Timjen Eising and Frenchman Arnaud Jouffroy, who finished second and third respectively. Riders faced unseasonably warm, sunny conditions in Kalmthout.
With three wins so far this season, Van der Haar is off to a strong start. He won another C1 event in mid-September when he sprinted to victory at Cross Vegas, America’s biggest cyclocross race and annual season kick-off.
