Killeen Crowned British XC Champ!

Killeen earned the right to wear the British National Champion's jersey for another year with a win in North Yorkshire.
Giant Factory Off-Road Team rider Liam Killeen defended his national title with a win at the British Cross-Country Championships. Killeen rode his Giant XtC Advanced SL to his fourth straight national title, beating his rivals on a wet course in North Yorkshire.
Killeen, who joined the Giant Factory Team before the start of the 2011 season, had a short week of preparation for Nationals after racing a World Cup in the U.S. the week prior. The 29-year-old said the North Yorkshire course, which was hit with rain 24 hours before the start, held up well and favored all-around power and technical skills.
“It’s nice to retain the jersey,” Killeen said. “It’s the biggest domestic race and it’s good to wear it again."
With the national title in hand, Killeen now turns his attention back to international racing and accumulating as many UCI points as possible as he looks to qualify for the 2012 Olympics in London.
