Rabo Wins 3 in Austria Tour

Nuyens, Posthuma, Brown each score a stage

While a good portion of the Rabobank team riders were competing in the Tour de France over the last week, some were battling at the weeklong Tour of Austria, where three different Rabobank riders scored three stage wins in the eight-day event.

Belgian Nick Nuyens, Dutchman Joost Posthuma and Australian Graeme Brown each posted wins in Austria, showing the team’s well-rounded capabilities with by capturing victories in three very different manners.

Nuyens was the first to strike, taking a win in the fifth stage, a 150.3-kilometer race that the Belgian compared to the Flemish spring classics. Nuyens got into a breakaway and then outsprinted Italian Giovanni Visconti at the end to take the stage victory.

Posthuma was next, riding his Trinity Advanced SL time trial bike to a win against the clock in Stage 7, a 26.3-kilometer time trial. And Brown closed things out the following day, sprinting to victory on his TCR Advanced SL bike in the final stage, which finished in Vienna.
