A wild ride with Marcelo Gutierrez Villegas!

Big Win for Gutierrez in Colombia!

14 January 2013

Colombian downhill racer Marcelo Gutierrez Villegas wasted no time getting his first win as a member of the Giant Factory Off-Road Team. The four-time national DH champion in Colombia won the Manizales Urban DH race, an intense, gravity-fueled thrill ride through the city streets of his hometown.

An international field of talented riders including Kyle Strait, Cam Zink and Mitch Ropelato traveled to Colombia to contest the event, but Marcelo, riding his new Giant Glory race bike, earned the win for the third straight year.

“The track is insane,” said Marcelo. “There are some crazy lines like big stair gaps that give you adrenaline shots each time you hit them. Especially when you hear the crowd screaming so loud.”

“I’m so happy about how I’m feeling on the bike,” Marcelo continued. “About being on the team and the first result I got for the season.”
