Hart Voted Best Male Mountain Biker!

5 december 2011

Giant Factory Off-Road Team rider Danny Hart was chosen by Cyclingnews.com readers as Best Male Mountain Biker in its 2011 Reader Poll.

Hart, who captured the attention of the mountain biking world with his electrifying gold medal ride at the 2011 World Mountain Bike Championships, is the first downhiller to be voted best mountain biker by Cyclingnews.com readers. The 20-year-old Brit edged out cross-country rider Julien Absalon of France, who has won the award six times. Hart took 23.3 percent of the more than 21,000 votes.

In just his second pro season on the World Cup, Hart took the world by storm on his Giant Glory. He scored three World Cup podium finishes and then went on to have the run of his life on a rainy World Championships course in Champéry, Switzerland.

Hart is the second Giant rider to take top honors in the 2011 Cyclingnews Reader Poll. Last week Rabobank-Giant rider Katie Compton was voted Female Cyclocross Rider of the Year for the fifth straight year.
