Bosman Breaks Through at CX World Cup

27 november 2011

The Under-23 riders of the Rabobank-Giant team shined again at Saturday's third round of the World Cup cyclocross series in Koksijde, Belgium. This time it was Gert-Jan Bosman taking the win, leading the squad as it scored four of the top-five spots. Current World and European Champion Lars van der Haar finished fourth to maintain the overall World Cup lead.

Rabobank-Giant rider Stan Godrie took the early lead, forming a breakaway group that included Bosman, van der Haar and a fourth teammate Mike Teunissen. The four young Dutch riders controlled the rest of the race, with Bosman sprinting for the win on his Giant TCX Advanced SL.

“You could tell we were riding with rather than against each other,” Bosman told Cyclingnews.com after his win.

Van der Haar, Bosman and Teunissen are now first, second and third in the U23 World Cup standings after three rounds.
