RABOBANK'S GESINK ON HIS TEAM ISSUE GIANT TCR ADVANCED SL
|
On CyclingNews.com, editor James Huang has a write up on the Giant TCR Advanced SL that Rabobank’s Robert Gesink rode to a terrific 8th place overall finish at the Amgen Tour of California. Robert won the Best Young Rider jersey (he’s only 22!) by a margin of more than a minute. It’s the third consecutive BYR win in the Tour of CA for the Dutch rider.
Here’s part of what Huang tells CyclingNews readers: “Gesink's gleaming white TCR Advanced SL is a marked visual departure from his rather classic-looking lugged carbon Colnago with its far bigger tube profiles, sweeping curves and smooth lines. Though the old TCR was already no slouch in the weight and stiffness departments, Giant says this new one is a big leap forward.”
And here’s what Robert Gesink tells Giant about his road bike, and his Giant TT bicycle, in comments emailed to us just today: “The Giant is a really good bike; it's strong, stiff and light, which are the 3 most important aspects a bike should have. I think I really found a good position riding uphill. Also the Giant TT bike is really strong and it really wants to go forward. I improved my position on the bike resulting in a good time trial in Solvang.”
