HIGH ROAD’S SIVTSOV WINS TOUR OF GEORGIA – HENDERSON WINS STAGE 7

Kanstantin Sivtsov wins Tour of Georgia

(April 27, 2008) Riding the prototype Giant TCR Advanced SL, Team High Road’s Kanstantin Sivtsov of Belarus won the 2008 Tour of Georgia. His teammate, Greg Henderson of New Zealand, rocketed across the finish line of the stage 7 finale to claim his second stage of the Tour.

The day before, Sivtsov won Stage 6 with an emphatic finish, outsprinting Slipstream’s Trent Lowe and Astana’s Levi Leipheimer at the top of the famous Brasstown Bald climb. That win put the 25-year-old first-year High Road rider into the yellow jersey of the race leader, and he kept it by staying at the front of the peloton on the final stage.

The Tour of Georgia was a tour de force for Team High Road. The Team won three stages -- two by Henderson and one by Sivtsov – making it the only team to win more than a single stage. Both Henderson and Sivtsov spent time in the yellow jersey, and Henderson also claimed the points jersey.
