Rabobank’s classics riders had a new weapon this year for the cobblestone roads of the northern classics in Belgium and France. Matti Breschel and Lars Boom each rode the new Defy Advanced SL for certain races, helping them score several top-10 finishes. With its superlight composite frame and endurance-oriented ride quality, the new bike offered another option to the TCR Advanced SL and the TCX Advanced SL cyclocross bike, which Boom used to score a career-best sixth at Paris-Roubaix.
