OverDrive 2
Giant’s innovative oversized fork steerer-tube design produces razor-sharp handling on the roughest trails. The tapered steerer and oversized bearings (1-1/4-inch top, 1-1/2-inch bottom) greatly boost torsional steering stiffness so you can ride with more power and confidence.
Internal cable routing
The Trance X 29er frame features built-in ports to route brake cables and a dropper seatpost cable with a handlebar-mounted remote. The new design offers sleek, uncluttered looks and performance.
29er Specific Geometry
Every Giant 29er features custom-designed geometry for the perfect blend of smooth, stable trail control and sharp handling.
ALUXX SL Aluminum
Formed from raw materials in Giant’s aluminum forging facility, this proprietary alloy is 30 percent stiffer than standard 6061-series aluminum. The higher stiffness allows engineers to use less material to produce lighter frames with no compromises in strength or durability.
MegaDrive
A massive rectangular downtube and oversized toptube work in unison to provide superior front-end lateral and torsional steering precision. The rectangular downtube produces unprecedented pedaling stiffness and sharp trail handling
Maestro Suspension
Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages make Maestro the most active and efficient suspension system in the world. With its linear spring curve and near vertical wheel path, Maestro is sensitive to small bumps and smooth on bigger hits. And the co-pivot design saves weight by using one axle to connect the lower link and lower shock mount to the front triangle.
Single-spar Swingarm
A new single-spar swingarm design tucks the rear wheel tighter under the rider for fast, agile and “flickable” 29er trail handling.
FluidForm
This complex aluminum process of extruding, shaping and butting raw ALUXX SL tubes allows Giant to engineer frames that meet specific performance demands. The result is a stronger, lighter frame structure that eliminates the need for weight-adding gussets used by many frame manufacturers.
PowerCore
The oversized bottom bracket and chainstay area features a fully integrated 86mm wide BB design. Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
FEAST ON SINGLETRACK
The newest member of the award-winning Trance X family is this all-new 5-inch travel 29er. Its premium ALUXX SL frameset with Maestro Suspension was specifically engineered to optimize the performance benefits of larger 29-inch wheels. It features a new single-spar rear swingarm for a tighter wheelbase and shorter rear-center length, which results in razor-sharp handling in all types of terrain.
