Joseph has won both the New Zealand title and the Oceania title in 2011.
New Zealander Rosara Joseph has been on a hot streak since joining the Rabobank-Giant team earlier this year. The 29-year-old Olympian won Friday’s Oceania Continental Championship cross-country race at Mt. Major, near Shepparton, Australia, adding to her New Zealand national championship from earlier this year.
Wearing the New Zealand national champion’s jersey and riding her Giant Anthem X Advanced SL, Joseph dominated the elite women’s race from the start. She opened a 30-second gap on the opening lap and cruised to a winning margin of more than five minutes.
With major wins in New Zealand and Australia under her belt, Joseph will now start to focus on international competition.
“My long term focus now is the London Olympics, where I would be very happy to achieve a podium finish,” she told Cyclingnews.com after the race.
