The Wagstaff family of Gainesville, Florida, just moved into a new home, thanks to hundreds of volunteers from the area and the TV program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The family of six will also be receiving new bikes, courtesy of Gainesville bike shop Chain Reaction Bicycles and Giant.

The popular ABC-TV show features a family, usually one facing some adversity, whose home is rebuilt in one weekend mostly by volunteers from their community. The Wagstaff’s run a non-profit music school, and were chosen because their old home had crumbling floors and a defective electrical system.

In addition to their new home, the family will enjoy new bicycles. Giant and Giant retailer Eric Johnson, owner of Chain Reaction Bicycles, decided to donate the bikes to make the family’s holiday particularly special. In making the presentation to the Wagstaff’s, Eric Johnson told them they would be getting the new two-wheelers so the family “… could have something new and fun for Christmas!”

The episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” featuring the Wagstaff’s will air on ABC-TV in early spring 2010.
