BIKERADAR ON THE GIANT ANTHEM X 29ER

First Ride Review: “…one of their hottest bikes for 2011”
Editor Matt Pacocha of BikeRadar.com has written a “First Ride Review” of the Giant Anthem X 29er in which he notes the fact that the bike has “...already won a world championship, albeit an unofficial one. Carl Decker took victory in the 2010 Downieville all-mountain event on a prototype version.”
Giant Factory Off-Road Team pro Carl Decker was instrumental in Giant’s development of the Anthem X 29er. Decker first got his prototype bicycle at the 2010 Sea Otter Classic in April, and scorched a Super D victory just a few hours after delivery. Two months later, he set a new course record in Downieville.
While Pacocha didn’t ride Decker’s bike, he does get a chance to ride an Anthem X 29er 1 spec from the Giant demo rig. In his online review, he says, “After just 40 minutes on the new 29er, we can comfortably say that it rides much like any other Anthem X.”
That’s what Decker himself says in praising the bike he’s raced almost exclusively during the 2010 season, including the Test of Endurance event in Blodgett, Oregon in June where he also set a new course record. “Why do I ride it? Because it rides like an Anthem X!” he says. “It’s a great bike and you can ride it in so many different circumstances. If I was going to have just one bike, this would be my ‘one bike quiver.’”
On BikeRadar.com, Matt Pacocha predicts that for Giant, “…the Anthem X 29er is poised to be one of their hottest bikes for 2011.”
