RANDO ON THE PODIUM IN FIRST JEEP 48STRAIGHT!

(August 26, 2008) Giant MTB Team gravity expert Jared Rando placed third in the Jeep 48STRAIGHT competition in Mountain Creek, New Jersey. Held at the Diablo Freeride Park on August 23-24, 2008, Jared took his place on the podium alongside what are described as “the new young guns” in Downhill. First place went to Cody Warren, and 2nd was claimed by J.D. Swanguen. At 27 years of age, Rando is the oldest of the top 3. Among the veteran names the trio bested at this first stop on the tour is Brian Lopes, Eric Carter, and Rich Houseman.

The next stop on the Jeep 48STRAIGHT tour is Park City, Utah, at the Canyons resort on September 19-20.

The Mountain Creek event was videotaped by CBS sports and is scheduled to be shown on September 28.
