Team Rabobank announced its squad of eight riders, including this year’s Paris-Nice prologue time trial winner Lars Boom, that will compete at the May 16-23 Amgen Tour of California stage race.

“All eight riders have the opportunity for success without the stress of driving for a single leader,” said Rabobank team manager Adri van Houwelingen. “The quality of our team is such that one rider could perhaps go for a stage win and maybe another for the championship.”

Boom will be making his first appearance in the Tour of California. Joining him will be Stef Clement, Steven Kruijswijk, Sebastian Langeveld, Tom Leezer, Paul Martens, Grischa Niermann and Maarten Tjallingii.

The Amgen Tour of California begins Sunday, May 16, with a stage from Nevada City to Sacramento. It ends Sunday, May 23, with a circuit race encompassing Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, and Agoura Hills. On Saturday, May 22, the city of Los Angeles plays host to the race’s only individual time trial.
