KILLEEN TAKES NATIONAL ‘CROSS SILVER

Liam Killeen leads the pack

Late drama for Giant Factory Team rider

Giant Factory Team rider Liam Killeen took silver in the British National Cyclo-Cross Championships at Chantry Park, Ipswich this weekend, missing out on gold by the tightest of margins.

Killeen who had worked hard to try and break the lead pack on his Giant TCX Advanced SL found himself in close contention with a small group of riders. Then coming out of a tricky technical section near the race finish Killeen and eventual race winner Ian Field touched wheels. Killeen hit the ground and battled to get quickly back on the bike but it wasn’t quite enough to regain the lead and Field held on for the win with Killeen crossing the line just four seconds behind to win the silver medal.

Liam Killeen who specialises in Cross-Country Mountain Biking now turns his attention to preparation for this Summer’s 2012 Cross Country event. Meanwhile Rabobank-Giant riders took 3 Dutch & 1 US National 'Cross title this weekend.
