Third Straight World Cup Podium for Hart!
July 2, 2012
Downhill World Champion Danny Hart of the Giant Factory Off-Road Team had his third consecutive World Cup podium ride at Sunday's Round 5 in Windham, New York. Hart rode his Giant Glory to fourth place on a short, rocky and dusty course at the World Cup's only 2012 U.S. stop. Hart’s teammate Andrew Neethling finished 10th, giving the team two top-10 finishers in New York.
Hart had to bounce back from a hard crash in Saturday’s qualifier race. He cut his arm and received 20 stitches the day before the race but was still able to put in a terrific finals run less than 24 hours later. The gutsy ride allowed Hart to maintain his fourth-place overall ranking.
Neethling has shown consistency and steady improvement throughout the 2012 season. He continued his march up the rankings, breaking into the top-10 overall for the first time. The South African is now ninth overall and in solid position heading into the season’s final two races in France and Norway.
