Giant Australia Off Road riders Jessica Douglas and Brad Davies have teamed up for the Terra Australis event in Victoria's North East Alpine region. The event starts in the picturesque ski village of Falls Creek and concludes in the town of Beechworth 7 days later. Riders have to complete the event in either male, female or a mixed pair and they must remain together at all times to avoid time penalties.
The first stage took riders from Falls Creek into the upper reaches of the Kiewa Valley and down into the finish at the Big Hill mountain bike park in Mount Beauty. Brad and Jess rode a conservative first stage and escaped mechanical mishaps to finish in 1st place in the mixed pairs, holding a gap of 11 minutes over second place pair Mark Fenner and Jo Wall.
