DECLINE MAGAZINE ON THE GIANT REIGN X0: “WE WERE IMPRESSED!”

May 31, 2012

The July 2012 issue of decline magazine spent some time with the Reign X0 and the reviewers say: “…we were impressed with how masochistic it was when put through the rough stuff.” “This bike handles very well on anything from fast high-speed sections to sharp rocky drop-turns.”

ON THE RIDE:
“Giant’s answer to extreme trails and riders who are looking to self-shuttle…Maestro suspension does a good job of isolating pedaling forces…for a bike with over six-and-a-half inches of travel…able to climb up anything you’ve got the legs for…at home on fast, rugged downhills…(able to) plow over anything from rocks to roots and the occasional small, off-leash dog.”

ON THE SPEC:
“There is a good mix of Giant’s own components on everything from the Contact Switch dropper post to the stem and bars…drivetrain is a solid combo of SRAM X0 and X9 gear with Avid Elixir 9 brakes…Fox handles the suspension duties with their 36 Talas RLC fork and DHX 5.0 shock.”

BUYING ADVICE:
“The Reign X0 is a very capable all-around bike that rewards its master on the descents”.
