Giant’s Anthem X 29ER series of big wheel mountain bikes has gotten some big recognition from two online sites.
First, TwentyNineInches.com revealed the Anthem X 29ER is their “Reader’s Choice” among all bikes in the 29’er category. “Many readers mentioned the Anthem as being a great all-rounder for XC, Trail, and back country adventures. It seems the bike had quite an impression on those that owned the new Giant full suspension 29er for 2011. Congratulations to Giant Bicycles and their Anthem X 29 full suspension bike!”
Also, DIRTRAG Magazine online spent this past summer taking the 2011 Anthem X 29ER 2 out for a cruise. After riding on various technical terrain, over many hours, Product-Tester Karl Rosengarth “…had a great time aboard the Anthem X 29ER 2”.
ON THE RIDE:
“On multiple 5-6 hour hammer-fests, I was happy to have the Anthem X 29ER’s big wheels and 100mm of well-behaved suspension as my partners in grime. If I stayed on the gas and committed to my line there was very little in the way of rocks or roots that would slow down this bike.”
ON THE SPEC:
“The Anthem X 29ER uses Giant’s Maestro rear suspension design, which….is a dual-link suspension with four pivot points that, when taken as a whole, define a single floating pivot point….I could feel this bike’s racing DNA. I’d describe the rear suspension’s character using terms such as “efficient” and “race-tuned”…Up front, it was point and shoot, thanks in large part to the tapered head tube and QR15 thru-axle on the Fox F29 RL fork.
BUYING ADVICE:
“I’ve come to admire the value that Giant packs into their bikes….considering the proven suspension design, stiff chassis, and dependable components. The Anthem X 29ER 2 is a race-capable trail bike that’s fun to ride.”
