GIANT GRAVITY GUY JARED RANDO ORGANIZES RACE DOWN UNDER TO BENEFIT TARA LLANES

(Editor’s note: Giant MTB Team rider Jared Rando has been friends with Tara Llanes for a long time, and he organized Australia’s first ever Super D race in Canberra to help raise funds for www.tarallanesroadtorecovery.com

He sends this report about the event; he also provides a link below where you can discover that Jared placed very well in the race he organized! Thanks for being such a good friend, Jared!)

Hi Everyone,

Last Sunday we hosted a fund-raiser for Tara in the form of Australia's first Super-D event. It was a local club event held at Majura Pine Forest in Canberra and about 75 riders showed up to race. It was a two-run format with a point score system used to determine placings.

With no one not knowing to expect, the riders who showed up on everything from full on DH bikes to XC hard tails all had a great time. We raised a little over $1000 through donations and the BBQ put on by Carolyn and Dave Mckinlay.

Huge thanks go out to Giant Australia and Onya Bike Belconnen for donating prizes and making sure no one went away empty handed. (Check out: http://www.onyabikewarehouse.com.au/about/stores.shtml)

Huge thanks also to Dave and Carolyn Mckinlay and Russ Baker for taking care of rego, timing and the BBQ. Couldn't have done it without your help.

It was a great day and I can't thank everyone enough for their efforts and donations.
