Team Enters 2008 Season Equipped with Giant’s Latest Composite Road Bike Prototypes

PALO ALTO, Calif. (February 15, 2008) – Giant Bicycle is proud to advance into the 2008 race season with its partnership with Team High Road, the world’s largest international cycling team, by today unveiling the latest-generation prototype of its legendary TCR series of performance road bikes. As the official bike sponsor of Team High Road for 2008, Giant reaffirms its long-standing commitment to developing products for the world’s most demanding consumers through intensive, Pro Tour-level testing and feedback.

The 2008 Tour of California will see the debut of prototype composite road bicycles from Giant which are being tested by Team High Road. The bicycles are designed to specifically meet the team’s rigorous demands which include decreased frame weight, overall increased pedaling stiffness (via enhanced bottom bracket and headtube stiffness) and additional ride compliance. As part of the partnership, Team High Road is providing constant feedback in the development of the prototype bicycle – riding, racing and winning throughout the 2008 season.

Giant continues its partnership with Team High Road that began in the 2007 race season, having worked with the similar organization and team structure instated by Bob Stapleton. With a legacy in professional road cycling that dates back to the ONCE Team (1998-2003), Giant has partnered with riders and teams at the highest level of competition to develop and bring the best products to market.
