Kirchen 2nd at the Tour de Suisse

(June 25, 2007) The T-Mobile Team, riding the Giant TCR Advanced T-Mobile Team bicycle, just finished the Tour de Suisse. Kim Kirchen, the Luxembourg national champion, was 2nd overall in the GC at the end of the 7-day stage race.

Also, in another just completed race in the Netherlands, young Brit Mark Cavendish again showed the flying form and top-end speed that has seen him take the season by storm. The man from Manx won the final leg of the Ster Elektrotoer stage race in a bunch sprint – bringing his tally to six race wins in an incredibly productive neo-pro season.   And T-Mobile's Bert Grabsch is the newly crowned German time trial champion. The 32-year old clocked a time of 48:11 over the 40 km course in and around northern Germany to win the title.      The entire T-Mobile team is looking forward to Le Grand Boucle, the Tour de France, which starts July 7. 13 riders have been “pre-selected” for the tour, and that number will be winnowed down to 9. You can go www.t-mobile-team.com for updates to see which riders will start the tour.
