Kirchen Still 3rd at the Tour de Suisse
(June 18, 2007) T-Mobile Team rider Kim Kirchen is in third place in the GC after 3 stages of the Tour de Suisse, only 14 seconds behind leader Fabian Cancellara. The Luxembourg National champion was part of a breakaway that caused him to leapfrog over other competitors, and finish 3rd in a sprint finish behind stage winner Alessandro Proni of Quickstep and 2nd place finisher Xavier Florencio of Bouygues Telecom. At the end of Stage 2, Kirchen was in 12th place overall. After today’s stage, Kirchen is in 3rd place, and the T-Mobile squad is 4th overall in the team classification.18 June 2007
