Lenosky Wins Teva Mountain Games
(June 2, 2007)
In the just-completed 2007 Teva Mountain Games in Vail, Colorado, the incomparable, the legendary, Jeff Lenosky won the Freeride challenge over Kyle Strait. That’s Lenosky on the right, staying upright, while Strait tumbles, in a photo taken by Dominique Taylor of the Vail Daily News.
Their competition went down to the wire in the last heat of the finals on Saturday June 2. Both took the faster of the two bridges in the final obstacle of the course; called simply, “the skinny,” a 6-inch crossing over water.
Lenosky, on his Giant STP, pedaled the skinny cleanly to win back-to-back freeride championships, while Strait stumbled off the span taking one of many spectacular falls Saturday.
Congratulations to Jeff for a great ride. Go to the Vail Daily News for a great article and more photos of the Freeride Challenge. 4 June 2007
