HELEN TUCKER RACES IN JAPAN

Giant Triathletes race in New Zealand and Japan

Following strong results in Maloolaba Giant Triathletes Helen Tucker, Liz Blatchford, Olly Freeman and Richard Stannard moved on to race in the New Plymouth ITU World Cup in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Liz Blatchford had a great race finishing in 5th place and Helen Tucker had another solid performance finishing in 13th. In the men’s, Olly Freeman backed up his great result in Maloolaba with a solid 14th Place, while Richard Stannard finished 32nd.

Helen Tucker then went on to race in Japan at the Ishigaki ITU World Cup, putting in her 3rd solid result in as many weeks, this time finishing 14th. These results mean that Helen, Liz and Olly have all had their positions confirmed for the Olympic selection race in Madrid on May 25th, with starting places limited to only 5/6 men and women.

The results move Helen Tucker’s World Ranking into the top 20 with Liz Blatchford now back inside the top 50. Olly Freeman moves to rest just outside the top 20 in the world.
