PedalOn.co.uk Race Team 2008

Giant is happy to be involved with the PedalOn.co.uk Race Team for 2008.

The team consists of 25 riders of all abilities from Sport level riders all the way through to Elite. Every team member lives locally to the shop and is passionate about both cycling and racing, with a hardcore of 10 riders who compete nationally. Although mainly focused on traditional cross country racing the team also competes in many diverse events, such as the teams long running history of success in the Mountain Mayhem 24hr race, with wins in the Sports category and podium places in the Elite category. In 2007 the Pedal On Mixed Sports team finished in 2nd place and the Elite Mixed team finished in a strong 4th place.

For 2008 the team will be concentrating on the National Points series, Southern XC series (sponsored by Pedal On) and Giant Mountain Mayhem 2008. Over the last few years the team has been riding on bikes supplied by the shop and Giant has assisted in the provision of Anthem Advanced and XtC Composite bikes for some of the teams key riders for 2008.

Key team riders riding Giant for 2008;

Adrian Lansley – Elite. Adrian will be targeting National XC and Marathon championship medals and trying to take the final step up to the podium to take National points series victories.

Chris Minter – Elite. Chris’ main goal will be to retain his Southern Area Series title and achieve top ten placing at National level.

Scott Forbes – Super Master. When not flying aircraft for BA, Scott will be targeting podiums at National level and a World Masters Championship medal.

Karl Norfolk – Sport. The new boy on the team, Karl made great progress through the ranks during 2007 and will be looking to compete at the front of the Sports Category through 2008.

Jamie Norfolk – Master. Ex pro and Commonwealth Games rider now studying to become a doctor. Jamie will be targeting National Masters podium places during 2008.
