HELEN TUCKER MAKES IT TWO WINS FROM TWO IN THE HEAT OF ARGENTINA

Giant rider Helen Tucker continued an incredible return to form with her second win of the 2008 ITU Triathlon season. Following her convincing victory in Chile, Helen faced an even tougher challenge as temperatures in La Paz, Argentina soared to a sweltering 35 degrees. But even the extreme conditions could not hold Great Britain’s Helen back from recording her second straight win, leading from start to finish and forcing Chilean athlete Barbara Riveros to once again settle for second place.

Victory in La Paz further boosts Helen’s World Ranking Position and makes qualification for Beijing an increasingly tangible goal. The points picked up from the two Pan American Cup wins ensure she has a much sought after starting place for the World Cup fixtures when the premier ITU circuit resumes in March. She is now the 3rd ranked Brit behind Michelle Dillon and Andrea Whitcombe.
