Giant Bicycles are this week celebrating their first Hollywood cameo role of the year in this season’s festive smash hit comedy movie ‘Fred Claus’ starring Vince Vaughan and Kevin Spacey. Although Warner Bros made the initial request to Giant USA, it was Giant UK who sourced and prepared all the bikes for all the workshop sequences throughout the film.
Giant UK Marketing Manager Collette Clensy was quoted as saying, “When we received the phone call from the States we were absolutely delighted to be asked to get involved in a big Hollywood movie production and provide the requested Giant bikes for Fred Claus. Initially we thought they would need perhaps one to two of our latest models. Amazingly, I think at the end of filming we had sourced, prepared and supplied over 150 different bikes and bike parts for the film.”
Collette continued, “With the nation’s awareness in the importance of healthy living and eating it is good to see that bicycles are again becoming one of the more popular active Christmas presents for children.”
If like many of the children in Fred Claus, you are hoping that Father Christmas will be delivering one of Giant’s fantastic new model range bicycles to your house, here are a few handy hints to ensure that you get the bike that’s perfectly right for you…
- Go to a Giant independent bicycle dealer who will make sure the bike is the right size, it will also have been assembled by an expert bike mechanic, and not by someone who usually sells Sat Nav systems for a living!
- Always take your child with you when choosing the bike, our recommended independent dealers will be more than happy to professionally measure your child for any number of bicycles their hearts may desire.
- Never buy a bike that your child will grow into, safety is key, and with the right professional fitting you will find a bike that will serve its desired time
