Oli Beckingsale wins National Points Series Round 2, Drumlanrig Castle, Scotland
Oli Beckingsale competed in Round 2 of the National Points Series at Drumlanrig Castle, Scotland this weekend, coming home with the win. After a tough few weeks of back to back racing in Europe with Giant team mate Adam Craig, the win was all the more impressive.
“Having raced 3 world cups in a row and been travelling around all over Europe my brain was in need of a weekend but luckily my body had recovered well and was still in good shape.”
After some hard races Oli wanted to take Round 2 at his own pace, and on the technical rocky and rooty circuit his Giant Anthem Advanced played a key role.
“My Anthem full-susser was spot on and allowed me to take on the climbs and then float the descents, and by the second of six laps I was out on my own.”
Oli finished the six laps with a two minute lead which gave him top spot on the podium and netted him a crucial 30 world ranking points. Oli now heads off to the Alps with Giant team mate Adam Craig to prepare for the World Cup at Fort William and the World Championships, both high priorities for the season.
