Team Columbia pro Marco Pinotti is featured on Pez Cycling News at http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/?pg=fullstory&id=6273&status=True. The 32-year old is currently racing in the Tour of Missouri, and just finished winning the Tour of Ireland. He is having his best season, he tells Pez.
Pinotti also won the final TT stage of the 2008 Giro d’Italia, as well as this year’s Italian Time Trial championship. Here’s the Q&A from Pez to Marco regarding Columbia’s strong TT contenders:
PEZ: You have many TT specialists at Columbia – do you ‘talk time trials’ with them?
Marco: Yes, we have Adam Hansen, Bradley Wiggins, Tony Martin; and the team places emphasis on the time trials. In San Luis Obispo, at the training camp, ten of us went to the wind tunnel at San Diego, and we made some great improvements. The team did a lot of testing of wheels and handlebars whilst Giant developed a new frame, the previous frame was already good but the new one is very good. Now we have the best positions and the best equipment.
Team Columbia, of course, rides the Giant TCR Advanced SL….and in 2008 no other team in the pro peloton has more victories.
