DECLINE LOVES CYPER, REIGN 0

DECLINE LOVES CYPER, REIGN 0

DECLINE magazine has spread some love to two Giant bicycles in the January/February 2008 issue. The Cypher, from the Giant for Women line of mountain bikes, gets the following on page 36:

“Although the Trance X is getting all of the attention, Giant is also making a 125mm travel trail bike called Cypher that caters specifically to a woman’s physique. The Cypher gets all the hop-ups that the Trance X has like hydroformed tubing, Co-Pivot shock/linkage design which pairs the lower shock mount and the mainframe’s lower pivot, and the new “single spar” rear triangle. This all adds up to a lighter chassis, and geometry that caters to women.”

And on page 56, DECLINE really goes to town in testing and reviewing the Giant Reign 0. Here are a few pithy points the editor makes:

“With its refined suspension and lightened chassis, the Reign 0 takes to trail riding like a duck to water. It loves it and excels at it, whether you’re pedaling up a technical trail or bombing down a flowing singletrack.”

“The Maestro suspension is one of the best pedaling designs because it preserves efficiency while maintaining traction on technical trails.”

“The Reign is one of the most agile bikes we’ve ridden. It’s easy to pick up over obstacles and can be very precise with wheel placement on landings, while cornering and when navigating through rugged sections.”

“An excellent trail bike. Giant’s Reign 0 pedals better than many shorter travel chassis while offering 152mm of travel for the rough. Weighing just over 28 pounds, it comes well equipped with a collection of high-end parts and superb Fox suspension, and pedal-friendly geometry that caters to all-around riding.”

Oh, stop it—please! You’re making us blush!
