GIANT BICYCLE TAKES THE HIGH ROAD

NEWBURY PARK, CA (December 3, 2007) - Giant Bicycles has partnered with High Road Sports, Inc. and its professional men’s and women’s cycling teams now known as “Team High Road.” With this announcement, the world’s largest bicycle brand continues its long-standing commitment to developing products for the world’s most demanding riders.

“Giant and Team High Road share the same commitment in clean and fair sport, and together we will work to shape the future of cycling,” said Tony Lo, Giant’s CEO. “We have been collaborating with this young and highly talented group of men and women to develop the world’s most advanced bicycles, and we’re excited to continue this powerful partnership. We can’t wait to unleash this winning formula in the coming season.”

Bob Stapleton, of High Road said, “We are very pleased to continue working with one of the most innovative and largest manufacturers of bicycles in the world. Giant was part of our successful season in 2007 and we are excited about our plans for 2008 and beyond. This is a committed partnership and we appreciate the ongoing support of Giant Bicycles.”

With a rich history in professional road cycling that dates back to the ONCE Team (1998-2003), Giant has partnered with riders and teams at the highest level of competition to develop and bring the best products to market. The result of this partnership has yielded not just podium victories but also technological and performance victories that are at the core of every Giant bicycle.

The partnership between Giant and High Road is the result of T-Mobile’s decision to end it’s sponsorship of cycling effective November 27, 2007. The announcement that T-Mobile would cease its sponsorship caught many in the pro peloton by surprise.

Pro racer Michael Barry, a T-Mobile rider in 2007 who will now be racing as part of Team High Road, had this to say about the change:

“Nobody likes to see sponsors leave the sport but, that said, we still have a really good team, a good group of guys that are motivated to race and make changes in the sport. I think we have a great group for 08 and I am sure we will be successful as a result. The management and technical sponsors such as Giant have been working like mad to make this team the best for 2008 and from what I saw at our team meeting they have done that.”
