Nine Knights Highlight Video
The Suzuki Nine Knights freeride contest, sponsored by Giant and hosted by Giant rider Andi Wittmann, wrapped up its successful first edition over the weekend at Hohe Taurn National Park in Wildkogel, Austria.
The unique freeride competition, which was inspired by the Nine Knights freeskiing event, featured mountain biking’s top freeride athletes competing in a centuries-old village in Austria. After six days of competition, Swedish rider Martin Soderstrom was chosen by his fellow riders as the winner of both the “Best Style” and “Best Trick” competitions.
Also taking honors were French riders Yannick Granieri, who won the “Big Air” category, and Pierre Eduard Ferry, who was named “Ruler of the Trail.”
“All the riders put on a very impressive performance throughout the week,” said Wittmann, who also rode but was limited because of a shoulder injury.
