Moorlag crosses the finish in Cyprus with his first major pro win outside of The Netherlands.
A win by Henk Jaap Moorlag led a dominating performance by the Rabobank-Giant Off-Road Team at Sunday’s third round of the Cyprus Cup mountain bike series. Riding his Giant Anthem X Advanced SL team bike, the 20-year-old Moorlag edged out another Dutch rider, Irjan Luttenberg, to chalk up his first major pro win outside of The Netherlands.
“From the beginning I had good legs and I felt like I could do whatever I wanted to do,” Moorlag told Cyclingnews.com after the win in Amathous.
Moorlag, the 2009 Dutch Junior National Champion, rode alone at the front for much of the race. His Rabobank-Giant teammates Emil Lindgren of Sweden and Fabian Giger of Switzerland finished fourth and fifth respectively.
