Marco Minnaard just missed the podium in the U23 men's race, finishing 6th and moving up to 12th overall in the World Cup Series.

Minnaard Leads Giant at World Cup XC #5

Dutch rider Marco Minnaard scored the top result for the Rabobank-Giant Off-Road Team at Round 5 of the July 9-10 World Cup XC Series in Windham, New York. The 22-year-old Minnaard just missed the podium of the Men’s Under-23 race, finishing sixth. Minnaard is now 12th overall in the series.

In other XC racing in Windham, the only U.S. stop on the 2011 World Cup series, American Katie Compton finished 13th in the elite women’s race. The elite men of Rabobank-Giant were led by American Adam Craig, who finished 19th. Also representing Giant in the elite men’s race was Factory Off-Road Team rider Liam Killeen of Great Britain, who finished 17th. Swiss rider Fabian Giger was in the hunt early but flatted and finished 27th.
