Bos Sprints to His 5th Win of 2012!

17 August 2012

Rabobank rider Theo Bos outsprinted Peter Sagan of the Liquigas-Cannondale team to take the win at Friday’s Dutch Food Valley Classic on his Giant TCR Advanced SL. Bos’s Rabobank teammate Mark Renshaw finished third, giving the team two podium spots at the 197km race in Veenendaal, The Netherlands.

Bos, the defending champion of the race, came in as a favorite, and lived up to that billing.

“You’re bound to feel some pressure in any race that will probably end up in a bunch sprint,” said Bos. “But I’m on form right now and that paid off in a nice victory. I’m very happy with this.”

It was Bos’s fifth win of the 2012 season. His last win was on August 8 at the Eneco Tour, and he’s coming into this weekend’s Vattenfall Classic in Germany with top form. The Hamburg race often ends in a sprint, and with Bos and Aussie Michael Matthews on the roster, the Rabobank team will be one to watch on Sunday.
