Rabobank rider Carlos Barredo rode to an impressive podium performance in Saturday’s Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian ProTour race in Spain. The Spaniard gave the home crowd something to cheer about, making a daring late-race breakaway and powering to second on his 2012 Giant TCR Advanced SL.
Barredo put it all on the line with 7km left in the 234km one-day race, which came just six days after the finish of the Tour de France. In the end, he held off all but Belgian winner Philippe Gilbert. It was Barredo's second Clasica podium in three years—he won the race in 2009.
