Rabobank-Giant cyclocross rider Bart Aernouts of Belgium scored his first win of the season at Tuesday night’s Nacht van Woerden race in The Netherlands. Aernouts’ Dutch teammate Lars van der Haar finished second, giving the Rabobank-Giant squad a one-two finish at the annual weeknight race that features a tricky course raced under the lights.
Aernouts negotiated the muddy conditions and challenging visibility on his Giant TCX Advanced SL to score the win in the UCI C2 event, crossing the finish line 9 seconds ahead of van der Haar, the current Under-23 World Champion.
A third member of the team, Dutchman Gerben de Knegt, finished fifth, giving Rabobank-Giant three of the top-five.
