BIO

I grew up and still live in Bend Oregon. My dad did a MTB race in 1983 on his beach cruiser and had so much fun that my brother and I toed the line the next summer on our 3-speed BMX bikes. In 20 years of racing, the sweetest feeling is still that of watching adult men throw down their bikes and cry when I'd pass them (65 lbs, with my seat most of the way down) late in a race. Priceless! Riding bikes made me a good runner, so I took four years off to go to U of Portland on a running scholarship.

Running isn't fun though, so I was back in the saddle a week after graduation (BS, Criminal Justice). Worked my way up the ranks on the

Deschutes Brewery team. Shattered my back in 2000 riding a downhill bike. Was told I wouldn't race again. Healed. Struggled. Raced poorly for a year. Overcame. Started spinning cranks for Giant in 2003. Races I've won: NORBA ShortTrack, 3 Singlepeed National Titles, NRC Timetrial, NRC Crit, NORBA Super D, 2005 Elite National Road Championships, UCI Cyclocross races, all rallycrosses entered. Races I want to win: (obviously every race I enter, but....) Singlespeed World Championships, Rally America Events (we'll start with class victories, but eventually...) Short Track National Championships
